Who are you gonna be? I want to be the Tinman
đŻ WTF GTM Daily Digest
September 10, 2025 â Your daily dose of B2B GTM industry intelligence đ
You know, sometimes it's like we're wandering through the Land of Oz - just in that moment when it goes from black and white to Technicolor - there is so much motion, haha so much money and so many magical things happening it's really hard to keep track. So read below, put your wizard hat on, and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
đ Funding & Acquisitions
Vimeo Gets Spoon-Fed $1.38B Exit
Vimeo is finally tapping out of the public markets, getting slurped up by Italian app factory Bending Spoons for a cool $1.38B in cash. The âcreator-firstâ video platform never recovered from its spinout in 2021, watching 90% of its market cap evaporate before deciding a private lifeline beats quarterly humiliation.
Bending Spoons swears itâll âinvest ambitiouslyâ and sprinkle in some AI fairy dust, but their track record is more âchainsawâ than âscalpel.â Evernote? Gutted. WeTransfer? Downsized into oblivion. Translation: if youâre banking on Vimeo for GTM campaigns or customer content, expect fewer features, more paywalls, and a cheery note about âenhanced efficiency.â
Productivity App Motion Raises $60M to Solve the Problem of Having Too Many Productivity Apps
Motion's "agentic work suite" just got a $550M valuation for basically being a really expensive calendar that thinks it's smarter than you. Because nothing says "I'm productive" like letting an AI decide when you should eat lunch and answer emails.
đ Product Launches
Contentstack: CMS Company Declares Content Management Dead, Immediately Launches New Content Management Thing
In a move that would make Orwell proud, Contentstack announced that content management is dead while simultaneously launching Agent OS to... manage content. Their "Context Economy" sounds suspiciously like the same old headless CMS with extra buzzwords and a ChatGPT integration.
Streaml: Another AI Sales Tool Launches Because Apparently We Don't Have Enough
Nashville-based Streaml just unveiled their "AI-powered SDR platform" in what can only be described as the 47th company this month to promise they'll automate your entire sales team. Spoiler alert: your quota is still your problem.
đ Industry Recognition
Clari: Revenue Intelligence Platform Gets Gartner Nod, Celebrates Like It's 2019
Clari's "Revenue Action Orchestration" made it into Gartner's Hype Cycle, which is basically the enterprise software equivalent of getting a participation trophy. Still, in a world where every SaaS tool claims to be "AI-powered," actual analyst recognition means your sales team might finally stop asking what the hell you actually do.
⨠Industry Vibes
AI Everywhere, Sales Still Nowhere
Revenue teams brag about âAI adoption,â but only 28% are actually seeing more sales. The rest? Drowning in shifting priorities, stalled deals, and stressed-out reps whoâd rather quit than click another dashboard.
The kickerâ fewer than a quarter of companies are even fixing it with real enablement. Meanwhile, top performers ditched the pilot purgatory and embedded AI directly into workflows so reps actually do something instead of watching ChatGPT roleplay a coach.

M&A: The New âGrowth Hackâ for CEOs Who Ran Out of Ideas
GTM Partners (with Metropolitan Partners Group) just dropped a research note basically saying: organic growth is dead, long live shopping sprees. Rising CAC, tighter budgets, and impatient boards mean the next hot playbook is M&Aâbecause nothing says âscaleâ like buying someone elseâs hard work.
The âthree pillarsâ (Identify, Finance, Integrate) read like common sense with a marketing polish, but the pitch is clear: even mid-sized companies and scrappy startups should stop pretending theyâll build everything in-house. Just swipe the corporate AmEx, bolt on some talent/tech/customers, and call it âsynergy.â For GTM teams, that means learning to sell not just your productâbut your CFOâs appetite for debt.
đ ď¸ Tool Of The Day
Lemlist: Your Multichannel Outreach Wingman That Actually Gets Replies
Instead of making your SDRs play spin-the-Channel, lemlist wraps email, LinkedIn, calls, and WhatsApp into a polished sequence builderâcomplete with AI tools, deliverability tricks, and a unified inbox that spares you the tab sprawl. Itâs the kind of GTM sidekick that actually boosts reply rates while feeling more âhumanâ than your last cold email storm. Oh, and it even warms your emails so they donât land in the void (spam folder) because ain't nobody gonna buy something from an email they never read.
